It's a washout!

Sunday, May 17th turned out to be a washout, and as such the track clearing was cancelled.

We currently do not undertake Track clearing duties in the rain as we do not have anywhere to shelter. Work continues to "Raise a wagon load of cash" to help secure the lease for the line.

If you wish to donate by post, then Please send your cheque/postal order to:-

Weekend Engineering Work

This Sunday, we will again be working between Elm Road Crossing and whitemoor yard junction clearing vegetation and weeds. Any help members can give will be very welcomed. Most members will be on site from 0930 onwards.

We really do need more volunteers. The more volunteers we have, the quicker we can get the vegetation cut back and the less work we need to do to get trains running.
If you would like to get involved and you have a few hours to spare,
contact Simon at bramleylinevicechairman@hotmail.co.uk or call the Bramley Line Mobile on 07874 121 211.

Track Clearning - 03 May 2009

Bank holiday Sunday, members of the Bramley Line were out working between Elm Road Level Crossing and March keeping some of the previously cut vegetation in check. A number of over hanging tree branches were removed.

This is the site when we started around 12 noon.

During the work:

Towards the end of the day, the line looked like this.

Although there is still a good bit of vegetation on the line here, this is nothing compared with what it was before, and can easily be controlled with Weed killer. Once we have secured the lease on the line, we will look at running a weed killing train to tackle these small leaves. A bit of work remains to be done here and we will return here soon to finish off.

There will be no track clearing gang out on Sunday, May 11th due to family and work commitments with the majority of the team, but we will be back out on Sunday, May 17th. Details to follow. This week we welcomed a new volunteer to the Track Clearing team, and we were very grateful for the help received.
