A day out along the line...

On Wednesday, January 20th, a couple of the members undertook a walk along the line from one end to the other in preperation for the Sponsored Walk on Sunday March 7th. It was a very good day, and some photos were taken.

Work this Sunday will take place at Waldersea from 10am. If you'd like to get involved, get in touch, bramley_line@yahoo.com

Sponsored Walk from Wisbech to March

This year, the Bramley Line is planning on being more active in fundraising, in more ways than one. On Sunday, March 7th, we are doing a sponsored walk from Wisbech, Weasenham Lane along the old railway as much as is possible to Elm Road Level Crossing at March, upon arrival there will be a members BBQ (Weather Permitting). Anyone is welcome to join the walk, but to do so you must be members of the Bramley Line, as our track access licence only allows members on the line.

Membership only costs £10 per year for Adults. More information on membership and the Sponsored Walk can be found at http://www.bramleyline.org.uk/

Work this Sunday concentrated on preparing for the walk, with some clearance work done at Waldersea. Unfortuantly, due to a faulty camera, we have no photos this week, but rest assured this will be corrected for next week.

Winter blues at Chain Bridge

Happy New Year to everyone, and we start 2010 at Chain Bridge. Work to erect some new fencing took place today. First the hole was dug for the post, then the post was hammered into the ground. It was packed with stones and then the hole filled in again.

The cross beams where then nailed to the posts, the individual spikes nailed to the beams.

This doesn't sound like a lot, but there is a good four - five hours work involved in this. Bitterly cold, and a job well done, the work was complete and we all set off around 1500.

Work next Sunday, January 10th takes place at Waldersea from 11am onwards. If your interested in getting involved, please contact us at bramley_line@yahoo.com
